MSA201-2 Ammonia Synthesis Catalyst Performance Introduction
A201 is an iron and cobalt dual active component ammonia synthesis catalyst, which is a substitute product for A110 pure iron catalyst, especially under low temperature and low pressure application conditions, the activity is significantly improved, which is a leap and change in the quality of ammonia synthesis catalyst.
MSA201-2 is an improved product, which not only retains the low-temperature high activity performance of A201, but also can be used for a long time at high temperatures (above 495℃). It is a wide-temperature high-activity catalyst, and its heat resistance, thermal stability, anti-toxicity performance and service life have been further improved.

II. MSA201-2/ H Ammonia Synthesis Catalyst Chemical Composition
MSA201-2 catalyst is a kind of ammonia synthesis catalyst with wider temperature zone and higher activity, which is improved and developed on the basis of A201 and A202 catalysts. Due to the unique raw material advantage that Linqu has the best quality magnetite sand (the main raw material of ammonia synthesis catalysts) in China, and advanced process formula and equipment, the product performance is very good after careful operation. Laboratory test results proved that the export ammonia concentration increased by 1-2 percentage points compared with similar catalysts.
The main component of MSA201-2 catalyst is ferric oxide, and contains appropriate amount of cobalt oxide, alumina, potassium oxide and calcium oxide and other additives.

MSA201-2-H type catalyst is based on MSA201-2 type, which is reduced to active α-Fe on specialized equipment in the factory. For the safety of transportation, storage and loading process, the surface of the catalyst particles (including the surface of catalyst micropores) is passivated with oxygen in a controlled manner, so as to generate a thin film of FeO on its surface. This film, not only ensures the safety of the catalyst, but is also extremely easy to reduce when in use. After pre-reduction, MSA201-2-H ammonia synthesis catalyst has a reduction degree of over 90%, and the oxygen content is generally below 2%.

2. MSA201-2H ammonia synthesis catalyst’s main features
1) Easy reduction. The starting reduction temperature is low (the reduction reaction starts at about 200℃), the reduction reaction is very obvious at 250~300℃, the main period of reduction can be entered above 300℃, and the final reduction temperature is low (above 460℃).
2) Due to the use of iron and cobalt double active components, can be obtained at low temperature and low-pressure high activity.
3) The amount of effluent is small, only about 10% of the oxidized catalyst, which can greatly reduce the emission of dilute ammonia.
4) The reduction quality of the catalyst in the whole furnace is improved, thus improving the quality and effect of the catalyst in the whole furnace.
5) The pre-reduction is carried out under special equipment and process conditions, and the process gas is purified to a high degree during the reduction process, which reduces the contamination of the catalyst and improves the quality of the catalyst.
6) Dramatically shorten the start-up time, generally about 1/4~1/5 of the oxidized catalyst, saving the start-up cost.
7) The height of catalyst bed will not be obvious settlement, so as to ensure the use of the effect.
IV. Conditions of use
1. Factory conditions of use:
When exposed to air, the catalyst is susceptible to moisture, which causes soluble potassium salts to precipitate out to the surface, resulting in a decrease in activity, especially at low temperatures. At the same time, it is also easy to be poisoned by the poison in the air, especially the pre-reduction catalyst, which requires not to open the lid of the drum before filling, and if it is necessary to open the drum, it should be re-sealed immediately.
When storing, it should be placed in dry and ventilated storage, and the condition of the package should be checked frequently.
